After hearing some strong recommendations for the product and watching the video below, we decided to invest in a medium-sized tub of Stay Afloat. The product, which is billed as an “Instant Water Leak Plug & Sealant,” is pretty cheap when compared to a sunk boat. We’ve had it onboard for a while this season and have yet to use it, which if definitely a good thing! If anyone out there has any experience with this stuff, please post a comment!
Life aboard is living large, in a small space. Every boat owner has found ways to make life in that small space easier, more comfortable, more convenient. The idea behind this site is to provide a place where these ideas can be shared amongst the boating community. To participate, send your contribution to SmallBoatProjects at gmail dot com.

The little Dutch boy could have used this...
Mike and Rebecca on s/v Katana have this up on their blog. This stuff looks like magic! I know that there was at least one occasion on Eolian when having some of this onboard would have been a good thing (but that's a story for another time).
For $11 (even at West Marine) this stuff is too good and cheap not to have on hand. I haven't seen a material that would bond this fast or well under water.
ReplyDeleteI've got to get some...
