Luckily it is a large space with good airflow, so heat buildup hasn't been a concern. Does it put out a lot of heat? As it so often is in the world of boats, the answer is "it depends"- the heat output is directly proportional to the need for the compressor to Robert Salnickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17236481906016930762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729582016304811211.post-48249275362430341432016-04-10T13:14:29.479-07:002016-04-10T13:14:29.479-07:00JimB -

Which means that all the heat that it extracts from the icebox gets dumped there, heating up the air in that space. Which makes the job of the compressor that much harder because it is trying to cool the condensor with hot air. Ventilation of that space is a requirement!

I will forward your comment to Brian to see if he has Robert Salnickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17236481906016930762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729582016304811211.post-44430994073180778482016-04-09T14:04:15.174-07:002016-04-09T14:04:15.174-07:00Is the compressor end in the cabinet back?
